Social Butterfly The Social Fitness Network: Not Your Average Gym Membership

For those of you who get tired of your workout routine and want more ways to sweat at your fingertips, the solution is finally here. The Social Fitness Network is a new service for northern and southern Californians that allows users to access over twenty gyms for the price of one membership. Its founder, Rudy Sanchez, is a bay area resident who has been successful in the fitness industry with his Smash Gyms chain. His idea to bring top quality fitness clubs, martial arts gyms, specialty fitness studios, and their members together has done just that and more.

True Fight Club owner Evan Esguerra says joining the network helped keep his business afloat. “I was surviving, but like near death,” Esguerra says. “The Social Fitness Network totally turned it around.” The Muay Thai expert and former marine say that working with the other gyms in the network has helped prevent members leaving the gym to try different types of martial arts or for other reasons like relocation. His members love The Social Fitness Network as well. “They were skeptical about it at first, but after the trial, they were able to see that it works.” He explained that the reason his members were so afraid to try it was because they thought they would be a nuisance in the other gyms and that they wouldn’t be accepted. “All of the other gyms welcome the members and are happy to help them. They’re happy, everyone’s happy.”

Esguerra’s gym, located in Hayward, California, is just one of the 23 that are currently in the network which continues to grow. True Fight Club offers Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu classes for kids and adults and is open 7 days a week.

Sanchez’s three Smash Gyms locations(Sunnyvale, Milpitas, and San Jose) are also a part of the program. They each offer a plethora of classes and even offer after-school programs for their younger members. Though Sanchez prefers to be “more of a behind-the-scenes kind of guy” and doesn’t like the attention, all of his ventures are turning out to be great successes.
